Our partner Rogelio Cano López served as moderator for the high-level panel «New Securities Market Law: Foundations for a New Legal-Financial Architecture,» held last Thursday, October 16, in the Aula Magna of the Law School of the Universidad Católica «Nuestra Señora de la Asunción» (UCA).
The event, organized by the Law School’s Student Center, convened the central figures of the country’s financial ecosystem for an analysis of the new legislation. The panel featured Rodrigo Ruiz, Superintendent of Securities (SIV); Álvaro Acosta, First Vice President of the Asunción Stock Exchange (BVA); and César Paredes, Titular Director of the Paraguayan Depository (CAVAPY).
The discussion centered on how the modernization of the legal framework seeks to position Paraguay as a more competitive financial center, strengthen investor protection, and facilitate access to capital for the country’s businesses.
